Captained for one of my private clients on his 35 Cabo Express. Started the day off by cast netting bait at a local tripod off of the beach. After we loaded the live wells with sardines and whitebaits we decided to go slow troll live baits for kingfish. We ran out about 7 miles to an area I had been fishing all week. It didn’t take long at all after deploying baits we were hooked up to a double header kingfish. The kingfish ranged in size from 10-20 pounds along with some big Spanish mackerel kept my clients busy all day. With the water temperatures still in the mid-70s should keep the kingfish and mackerel very active over the next few weeks. The gag grouper fishing should start to pick up here soon as the water temperatures cool off a bit over the next few weeks.
